Australian Education: A System that Encourages Lifelong Learning

Australia is widely recognized as having one of the best educational systems in the world, particularly in the Senior Secondary (Years 11 & 12) and Tertiary (University) levels.  Education is one of Australia's largest service industries and the government is very careful to ensure that quality is maintained and that research is continuously conducted to develop curriculums.

Performance of the Australian students as recorded by the OECD, UNICEF, PISA and TIMSS show that the overall quality of Australian education is of a consistently high standard.

Australian Education follows a ladderized system called the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) which outlines a seamless progression from childhood to adult education.

The Major Facets of Australian Education and the AQF are:

Kindergarten to Grade 10 (State Curriculum)
Grades 11 and 12 (WACE, National Exam)
TAFE (National Qualification)
University (Internationally Recognized Degree Programs)
