School Profile

The Australian International School (AIS) is a private, non-denominational, international school for expatriate and Filipino children. The School was established in 1964 as a preschool and expanded into grade school in the 1990's. The school has always focused on each student as an individual and on the delivery of international educational standards.

The curriculum is international in scope and is based on the inquiry method, particularly in the primary and middle school years.  The Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) is offered at the Senior Secondary level.  Students sit the Australian National Exam at the completion of their 12th year. 

The school is recognized as a WACE provider and by the Philippine Department of Education.  Students earn an internationally recognized diploma and are equipped to enter any school system in the world.

Campuses:

Located in a lush, green campus just outside the Makati Central Business District in Fort Bonifacio, the AIS main campus features sports facilities, science and computer laboratories, libraries and specialized classrooms.

The School has two conveniently located campuses for early childhood education (ages one and a half through kindergarten), one in Ayala Alabang and the other in Taguig.

Student Body:

The school serves families from over 20 different countries. Currently there are 150 (approx.) students enrolled with the five largest representations coming from The Philippines, Korea, United States, Australia and Japan. Most students are likely to enter higher education in North America, the UK, Asia, Australasia, and Europe.

Teachers:

Teachers come from a varied group of nationalities with several countries represented in our teaching and support staff. Teachers are all qualified in teaching and are supported by a program of professional development.

School Calendar:

The school year for K-10 begins in June and ends in March.
Years 11 &12 begin in January and end in November.
There are at least 180 teaching days per year at each level.
